22 Nov Train your “monkey brain”
We are happy to share with you a short video that will help remind you of your inherent emotional biases and how those biases can impact your decisions as an investor. Through the course of human evolution we have developed finely tuned instincts to react quickly and decisively to perceived dangers in our environment. Living in modern society, our animal instincts are the least relevant they’ve ever been. In fact, as investors in the 21st century, these powerful instincts can often be problematic as they can cause us to over analyze and over react to relatively minor issues in our environment. We hope this video helps to remind you that volatility is a normal part of investing, and that the challenging part of being an investor is to resist the urge to overreact to the continually negative headlines that we all regularly see in the news.
